EVER AIM is the Third of the World’s Largest Container Ships Delivered to EVERGREEN!
EVER AIM is already sailing at the service of EVERGREEN Marine. After the arrival of EVER ACE in July and of EVER ACT in September, this is the third ship with 23,992 TEU capacity in the Taiwanese carrier.
All three container ships already delivered were built by Samsung Heavy Industries. In addition to these, the company is in charge of building three more, in a total of six ‘Megamax-24’, ‘A-class’ that were contracted. The delivery of the remaining is scheduled for this year 2021 and for the next one in 2022.
In addition to being the largest in the world at the moment, these ships are also distinguished by being equipped with scrubbers, purifying filters that allow capturing a good part of the smoke produced, significantly reducing emissions into the atmosphere.
EVER AIM Features
Just like its older brothers, and in addition to the aforementioned 23,992 TEU capacity, the EVER AIM has a deadweight of 241,900 tons, an Loa of 400 meters and a beam of 62 meters (24 rows). The WinGD-11 X92B diesel engine drives the “Megamax” at commercial speeds of up to 22.5 knots. EVERGREEN’s latest ship comes with a bulbless vertical stem which, compared to conventional bulbous bows, is intended to better manage energy, saving both in fuel costs and gas emissions into the atmosphere.
Operation of the new EVERGREEN Container Ship
EVER AIM will soon phase into the OCEAN Alliance ‘NEU6’ Service (branded as ‘CEM’ by EVERGREEN), which links the Far East and Northern Europe. It will replace the vessel TITAN, with 14,424 TEU of capacity. With this upgrade, this loop will be ensured exclusively by ‘Megamax’ ships, above 20,000 TEU capacity.
